Being relatable is something that can be learned and cultivated with enough practice and conscious effort. When you are relatable, people are naturally drawn to you and that is an integral part of networking. People will come to you instead of the other way around. People will want to be around you, sit at your table, laugh with you, discuss things with you and give you preferential treatment. People can just tell without really knowing, if someone would be described by their peers as being relatable. So, in my mind, being relatable is a “must-have”.
Many of you all know that I have a podcast on FB and Youtube, “Girl, Who Don’t You Know?! (shameless plug – follow/subscribe/like it). Recently, I had the privilege of having a guest, Dr. Tara Phelps-Jones, and she shared information that I thought was gold on my show about emotional intelligence. I started to think, “Wow, having what is classified as high emotional intelligence is a vital tool needed to establish and maintain meaningful relationships!” So, I am sharing my podcast link with you because I know that it will prove to help you become more relatable and move your networking to the next level!
Happy Networking!
